About

Bushy Tail Farm is a farm in the making in Saxapahaw, NC.  Owned and operated by Liz Clore, Bushy Tail will begin selling vegetables in fall 2012.  We will begin with a 25-member, 12-14-week fall CSA and farmers’ market sales in the triangle area.

Bushy Tail Farm is growing slowly and incrementally.  We began as an idea in 2009 when Murray Clore, an amazing man, father, and grandfather, passed away and left 75 acres in Saxapahaw, NC ,which had been in his family for over 200 years.   Triggered by the reminder that she had access to this land, Liz decided to establish an agricultural operation on the property.  After reading many life-changing words on sustainable farming, she began training to establish a small vegetable, fruit, and livestock  farm inspired by the elegant systems of surrounding farms and renowned farmers such as Joel Salatin.   She is lucky and thankful to be in an area as supportive and enthusiastic as the triangle.

She hopes each day she works with her animals and vegetables they bring to mind one of the favorite sayings her grandfather and father taught her–”bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.”

Count us in… we are just across the river on the ‘green’ 5 acre property the other side of the dam! Mike and I have the 4 miniature mediterranean donkeys. One stud and three females, and use their bountiful manure for our flower gardens and vegetables.

If interested in some of this richest manure, with no chemicals administered to the donkeys ever, just lovely local hay from Twin Branches Farm, let us know! $ .50 a barrowfull anytime!!! 336 376-6540
